The New Toy is Here!

Karl, since you've been asking, here's the skinny on the new toy. Gary, I'm not sure if this will help you in the "Who will get their driver most into DEs after the HPDC" question, but I DID go out and buy a track car. HAHA!
1993 968 DE-Ready Car Full OG roll cage, Sparco seats, Simpson 6 point belts, Momo steering wheel Koni coil overs and camber plates, M030 sway bars M030 brakes with Performance Friction pads Lightweight flywheel, 6 speed trans, limited slip differential Adjustable fuel pressure regulator & gauge Corner balanced, lower strut brace, Lindsey under drive pulleys 3 sets tires and wheels; BBS 18” with Nitto NT-01, OEM 17” with Dunlop Direzza ZII, Miglia Mille 17 with storage tires” Cat delete, AC delete, radio delete, rear seat delete Recent timing and balance belts Braille battery, complete records. Weight 2910 lbs I've got a few things I need to do to it to make it road legal (put the 3 Point belts back in, put the parking brake back in, hook up the horn, potentially add a temporary cat for emissions, and probably a pile of other stuff, but nothing should be too difficult), but I can't wait to get it out for the first HPDE of the year! |
Nice new toy. Congrats!

Nice car and congrats. 968's are the hot car in SP3. Not sure what state you are registering but in Maryland a 93 is historic and do not require inspection. Get insurance, pay for a historic tag and GO! Put your convertor money into go fast parts. I waited until 2014 to tag my 968 for this very reason even though it is a really nice street car.

Very nice congratulations, enjoy!

Unfortunately, in VA, it's 25 years rather than 20 years, and since It's cheaper, easier, and probably more useful to do the handful of things to get it road legal, I'll do that in January on a 2 year plate, then get classics in 2018. The guy I bought it from had it on a classic plate in Minnesota because they've got the 20 year rule too. Now, I just need the garage to get done so I can stop paying for storage and get the work done.
I'll put up a separate thread later when I'm closer to done. For now, it's got the pad and stem wall finished and the fence behind it mostly done. Hopefully before Snowpocalypse Now! |
That is a very pretty car!!! Can't wait to see it rolling! Congrats!
