FS: Guards Red 77 911S Targa.
SOLD
Price drop $30,000 OBO FS: Guards Red 77 911S Targa. I've owned the car for a little over two years. This car has a US 1982 911 SC 3.0L motor rebuilt to Euro specifications. Here is an itemized list of work done by Mraz Import Automotive. https://www.facebook.com/MrazAutomotive - Replaced crank shaft (reason for the rebuild in the first place) - Replaced main, rod and intermediate bearings - Replaced pistons and rings - Resurfaced valve seats - Replaced gaskets for valves - Replaced timing chain and timing guides - Updated tensioner assembly with pressure fed units - Replaced oil pressure sender - Cleaned oil cooler - Replaced spark plugs and fuel filter - Replaced clutch and release bearing - Resurfaced fly wheel Mraz has been working on this car since 1994. Based on my research I believe the 3.0L transplant was done prior to 1994 but there is little to no history on this motor. After conversations with the PO and Mraz I believe the rebuild was completed about 7 years ago but again little to no documentation to support this claim! PPI’s are not only welcome but encouraged. The PO did some updates, fixing some rust on the front driver's fender (re-painting the front-end in the correct Guards Red) and redoing parts of the interior, including carpet. The car was repainted by another PO in Guards Red the car looks very nice. The car still has a couple of very small bubbles around the front windshield which have not changed in size. Underneath is very clean. The car has three tops, the factory Targa top in very good condition, a Cabrella top and a full carbon fiber Targa top. The Carbon Fiber top is a work of art simply beautiful, however the carbon fiber top needs to be fitted to the car. When I bought the car, I did some immediate updates myself: -Replaced the rear deck lid with a factory piece painted in Guards Red -Added the midyear grill with the proper 1977 911S emblem -Deep Six Fuch 15x6 Wheels refinished by Al Reed -Fresh 195/65/15 Continental radial tires (it is interesting that the speedometer is accurate with the proper sized tire) -Upgraded to Euro H-4 headlights with Guards Red painted rings -Factory 81-84 leather sport seats reupholstered by Lim’s custom upholstery in the original color and pattern -Factory 85-86 sport shifter designed to work with the factory sport seats 10% less throw -Full set of Koni shocks installed, the rears are adjustable -Lowered the car to “Euro ride height” the stance looks fantastic -100 hours of rewiring of the car by Dave Coleman, all of the items on the car work as they did when she left factory 38 years ago including the windshield washers with the exception of the a/c. The a/c is complete and installed. It was to be my final project for this car, just didn’t get to it. Brakes and clutch are also good -clutch being replaced with the engine rebuild. There are new fuel injectors, and I did a full tune up replacing plug wires, plugs, etc. A 4-wheel alignment was also done. Lots of power, if you like old 911’s this a very good driver's car, shifts very well and runs smoothly. She is fast! The only reason I am considering selling my car is that I want to go in a new direction for a fun car.
