Parts is parts

Anyone identified a local parts house that consistently has or can promptly get
Porsche parts?

Suncoast just hosed my schedule, and of the three local pro-level chain parts houses I've called, nobody can get much of anything.
Dealer? Sure, at 2x$.

Right now I just need the serpentine and air cleaner, but.

For the 99 Box? Contact wonger (magnetic1) w/ the part #s you need. Rockville MD worldpac shows 5 serpentine belts and 7 air filters in stock.

As long as the air cleaner isn't damaged/torn, you can gently blow air backwards through it to get a bit more use out of it, if replacement isn't available.

Is the serpentine belt showing signs of cracking or damage? If not, it should be good for a while.

Woldpac?

That's a find. Never heard of them. Thanks!

Yes, am jumping the gun on both intervals.
We are talking about the Spyder.
And it is an even bigger PITA to get at the guts of the Spyder than it is on the Base or S. So since I'm in there anyway...The belt and air filter are due in ten k, so it's not crazy.

DC Auto in North Carolina usually has a nice stock of Porsche parts

Believe it or not amazon.com. They tend to have filters and belts for any watercooled Porsche. Often they have brands that are known to be OEM suppliers in stock for next day shipping.

x2, they'll make you a great deal on a used serpentine belt and used air filter.

WorldPac usually sells through repair shops so you might need help with them. I've had good luck with Olympus on ordering things quick. Might not have right in stock but usually can get overnight or sooner. Got a good deal on 964 alternator last year. Order in morning, had in had next day about same time.

Good stuff!

Very useful info. Thanks to all.

Difficult to believe, but I've had occasional and surprisingly fast service (one- or two-day) using a local Porsche dealer, especially when considering the 10% discount you get on parts by being a PCA member. You also don't have to pay for shipping if you're close enough to pick up the part(s) yourself.
