At VIR for First Settlers DE...we're on the south course...bikers on north....TOBC Racing owner doing stunt flying crashed his plane in the middle of VIR. Two fatalities....

Wow. In the middle of the track or the middle of the infield. Were vehicles on course? I'm not familiar with TOBC racing...was this part of the event?

Stupid pilot tricks. Low level flying over an assembly of people and structures plus low level acro. I'm sure the FAA would have had a long conversation with him and probably pulled his pilots licence if he hadn't killed himself and his passenger. Legaly he should have been at least 1000' over the ground and from the video I saw it appears he was only about 100' up doing an aileron roll. The plane was reported to be a T-28 (warbird). I'll be flying with a few of them next weekend at Easton for the RPA formation clinic and I'm sure this accident will be a topic of discussion.

His death will not stop the FAA/NTSB from investigating, and pulling his license. It's dumb what he did and worse that he took someone with him.

there are old pilots and bold pilots.....very few old bold pilots. could have been a lot worst...if he had hit the fuel tanks.... Richard in the wdbj report is a BRR PCA member.
