Slipping during low speed turns
I have a friend who owns a modern Porsche (Panamera 4) who says the car feels like it slips or slides during low speed turns. He asked a Porsche dealer mechanic about this, and the mechanic said this was common and was just the way newer Porsches handle. Has anyone heard of such a thing? Doesn't sound right to me.

what does he mean by "slips"? understeer? perhaps you should take it for a drive for them and see if you can tell whats wrong.

check tire pressures?

x2 on pressures. Also could be a bushing design issue that allows some dynamic toe change -- my Volvo had this issue.

bring it over. We can take it out for a "pressure test"

The new technology is better able to place the car at the correct apex than can a mere mortal driver.........

Lose wheels...

...or loose rear axle nut. Worth getting that car looked at in case it is is a real problem.
Take it to PofT for a checkout under warranty. We'll all get to test drive it just in case its driver related. |
Could it be power/traction transfer from one end to the other or from one side to the other as a result of it being AWD? Is it on dry firm pavement or on loose pavement?
Bring him to a HPDC and let him drive and demonstrate with one of you "instructors" :) |
