Mobil 1 15w50 - where to buy, equivalents?
Was planning on changing the oil in 944 next weekend and went to Walmat for the oil. They used to sell 5 qt jugs for $28. No longer, and there's threads all over the internet (mostly Porsche and HD forums) about it.
I bought a couple of QUARTS for $8  in Corning, NY last month and they had to hunt in the back for it. If you're using this, where are you buying it locally and for how much? Is there an equivalent synthetic out there? |
Saw some Mobil-1 (qt's only, no jugs, 15-50) a few weeks ago at the Autozone in Centerville (28/29 interchange). I dont run mobil 1 though, just "regular" 20-50 in the summer.

The previous owners used Mobil 1. I'm superstitious about going back to conventional, but have considered it.

Have not seen any at a big box store for a while. I bought two cases at an auto parts store in down town WG and just picked up another case at NAPA today. No idea what the cost is, but $8/qt sounds about right.

Try Quarles Robertson.
They may have a minimum buy. QUARLES ROBERTSON OIL INC 8219 TERMINAL RD LORTON, VA 22079-1421 |
I found some at the Advance Auto Parts near me. It was ~$6/qt IIRC.
Lately I've been mixing the M1, Valv Race 20w-50 (dino), and Castrol dino 20w-50 with no ill effects. |
Seems like Wally World has a bunch in the spring around here, but nothing after that.

L finds it at WMart now and then. Buys 4 or 5 of the big bottles when she does.

I switched to Motul. Can't find M1 15W50 anymore except in the qt. bottles for $8+ per. For that kind of money, I'll take Motul and have it delivered.
