The Milwaukee Sawzall
4 Attachment(s)
It aptly named. Turns out, it really does saw all:
Attachment 12427 This was a 1994 RS America. Sad end to such a nice car, but this one was DUN done. Impact with the wall at the Glen bent the whole car like a banana. The only panel not messed up is the non-sunroof roof (which I cut off to save). Some interesting shots of the fab work inside the rocker panels of the 964. These rockers seem significantly bigger than on older 911s. I have to believe that head to head, the 964 is a significantly stiffer car than an old 911. Attachment 12426 Attachment 12428 This is a cross-section of the A pillar. Attachment 12429 |
Cross section pics are cool - That's a view you don't often see. ;) Thanks for sharing!

Nice pics, thanks!
The Sawzall was our best wedding present ever. |
Cool Pics Jazz.
Perhaps some ideas for stiffening / reinforcing your current whip? |
Man that looked like fun! What's the going rate for 1/4 of an RSA?
|
Looks like that beastie is about ready to join all the '44s I've crushed. Did you see my PM about the cooler mount?

Is it true that the RSA had more welding done to stiffen the chassis? Maybe seam welds instead of tack welds. I guy I know who is not technical at all, but owns an RSA told me that. I thought it is was just a stripped version of the 964 with possibly this extra reinforcement.
