What an awesome event! Thanks to all the volunteers that made it possible. Potomac runs a tight event.

White group is coming along nicely. After some early wrinkles Friday passing improved and the trains went away. BMan convinced some higher horsepower cars to let people by and be more humble. Worked like a charm.

Traded passes with Tina--each time going into Turn 10. What fun! Somehow, I held Kurt off for a bunch of laps. I couldn't catch him at the last event.

Set a PB on Saturday second session. Felt faster 3rd session but lap timer failed.

Dennis was fool enough to recommend me for a checkout ride. And I didn't manage to scare Dirk enough. Maybe he was sleeping because I was going so slow. To my surprise I found a black band on my wrist on Sunday. Been riding high ever since.

I tried very hard not to be a traffic cone in Black and was able to dodge the traffic whizzing by me. My left arm is a little sore but I haven't had that much fun on track since Green 0/0.

It was really something to share the track with a bunch of guys and gals I have been looking up to for years. Maybe someday I will actually pass one of them. Hey! A fella can dream can't he?

I'll be talking with Paul this week (need new shoes!) and will ask him about the 888Rs - hopefully just a problem with that one lot...

Congratulations! Being a "slower" car in Black is actually great training for situational awareness, noticing who is coming up behind you, how quickly they are closing, and what is the fastest way through for both of you. For example, if it's a high HP car coming out of turn 9 and you're sure they'll catch you a hair before Turn 10, it might be faster to lift a bit and follow them around the turn, rather than having them on the inside line in the turn. Of course, if you are the passing car and know you're going to catch the car in middle of the turn, it might be faster to lift or brake a little early, so you can take the turn at full speed rather than having to slow down mid-turn and blow your speed before the straight. Good luck in Black - it's a very fun group (and usually less speed differential than White).

Some of you know my Cayman died second session Friday so I finished out the weekend in the 370z. I appreciate the patience my fellow Black and Red drivers had with me, I did my best to give early passing signals. It was fun to see myself getting lapped by a few of you two or three times.

My car is now being looked at. Just got a call from the shop and after pulling down the plastic pan covering the front of the engine it was filled with gravel. It seemed to me that there was a ton of it on the track this past weekend. He asked me if I went off track backwards in the gravel which I didn't. So heads up you may want to double check those in your car. In the 370z there is no shielding inside the wheel wells and the gravel was clanking away all the way down the blend line getting on the track.

Thinking on the Cayman is I may have achived hydrolock. The battery was fully charged so it wasn't the alternator as I previously suspected. Roger is pulling the plugs so I should know something later today.

Thanks Moty for the pads, I could not have run the Z without them. Contrats to Mister C. for getting into Black!

Maybe it's just the whole lot and it's a warning for all cars running those tires or many only that lot. I assumed more weight over drive wheels was contributing to the problem but who knows.

Thanks Peter. Black is indeed a very fun group. I love the challenge of getting people by and am learning a lot.

Best of luck with the Cayman. Thought I was actually going to pass someone in black but then you burst my bubble by pitting and telling me you were in limp mode.

To all the limpers in black...I am coming for you.

First, a Big Thank You to all of the volunteers who made this event possible!

Here's my personal highs and lows of the event-

Highs:
1) Always great to see and hangout with track family and track friends! And got to enjoy the weekend with my two brothers(Danny and Will) which I don't see often.
2) Very glad the weather didn't affect the track schedule much.
3) Bested my PB twice after some mechanical tweaks to my car and then experimented with different ways of delivering the car to the corner and know that there's more time left with more work(on me, not the car).
4) Was able to help some folks to make a difference to their weekend.

Lows:
1) My brother Will's car got flooded. Interior all wet including carpets and seats(Thank You to the instructor who was willing to instruct on a wet seat! Then solo'ed him probably for that reason..JK!).
2) Got more cuts, bruises, and burns than usual (better me than the car).
3) The first combined Black/Red session was interesting...I leave it at that. I'm sure this was just an isolated incident of perhaps lining up at the wrong spot on the grid. I am sure future combined sessions will be super fun and I look forward to them.

Despite of the lows it has been a good weekend. Thank you all again for making this event great!

You did a good job there in Black Michael, and as I told you, speed is not nearly as important as situational awareness, being able to let cars by anywhere, except for that one who would not take a pass for 3 turns while you were nicely driving way off line for them. Was not able to "coach" much as most corners we were letting cars by
