The dilemma was how to remove all four calipers at once without letting the brake fluid drain out.

Not sure why letting all the fluid all drain out would be a problem as you'd likely want to flush the old fluid out anyway. But a short FLAPS brake line, bent over on its self and then solder the end as necessary. OR a foot or so of rubber hose w/end cable tied to the spring higher than master if you don’t have solder gun.

I will flush and bleed the brakes, of course. I had no containers to drain into ;)

I made a bit more progress this weekend by replacing the hardware for the rear rotors and installing all rotors and calipers. Still need to attach the new brake lines.

Rotor ready to be reassembled.

And assembled.

I also received the 90 degree Schrader valve adapters for my rear shocks, so I went ahead and upgraded the valve cores to high-pressure cores.

For comparison purposes - standard valve core on the left - high pressure cores on the right.

Some adapter details.

I just hope they'll hold pressure when installed.

Just chillin'. I got some new titanium shims to replace them with.

Made a little more progress last night by installing the transmission.

I started by removing the IMS bearing shaft nut, which is where I think the oil is coming from. Grimy.

Cleaned up.

Nut reinstalled and torqued with some Drei Bond on the face of the nut.

Everything looks pretty clean.

Nice! I need a week off!

987kmns 02-26-2015 11:24 AM

I know. The schedule is rather compressed because of Zone 2. It'd be ironic if the weather screws us after all this work.

All times are GMT -4. The time now is 09:47 PM.
