How's your search for a race car going?

My search for a race car has faded into the background... I kind of lost interest when, first, Ryan got a 993 and then it really faded when BMan got a 996. I had hoped the 3 of us would be banging sequential's in 997 Cup cars.

I have been focusing more on DE in Florida for January and February for me and Sly. I missed out on the early registration (November?!?!?!) for the 48 at Sebring in February. Pissed about that. Anyway, we are registered for the PBOC 4 day event at Sebring Jan 12/13/14/15. Trying to get some more dates lined up down south until we bring the rig/cars back to Virginia for the PCA Z2 VIR event on March 16-18.

Looking good, are you putting on glass bumpers?

Trak Ratt 12-26-2011 06:28 PM

Yes, FG F&R plus general cleanup of chassis (170K miles on the clock and it's been broke for some time + lots of track miles too). Upgrading the cooling system to the finned cooler and repaired side oil lines from the SC. Replacing some other oil and fuel lines too. Fabed some closing panels for various holes in the chassis, installing a data logger, wide angle rear mirror, and repositioning the sub belt. Prolly some touch-up paint too ;)

Motor and trans are out so I can replace the #3 intake valve adjuster that broke at the Turkey Bowl. Got plenty of spares as the part numbers haven't changed since santa was just a pup. Will use the power washer to clean them up too before reinstalling.

BTW saw a set of aero mirrors 4 sale on CL in Fairfax. Seems frivolous, but sure llke the look over the stock slabs on the '84 now!

Looking good DR ! You need a livery ....

Dr K 12-27-2011 12:23 AM

TR, why is the car on jack stands on the driveway, instead of on the lift in the heated, covered garage?

 power washing the car in the shop didn't seem like such a good idea boy-o ;)

Jack stands so I can remove the wheels/tyres for wheel well access.

Working on livery. Won't be as flashy as Ryans but should make picking the car out of the crowd easier...
