Great idea!! I'd drop my wheels off soon so your wife can take them over for me. ;)

Jerome, she'd probably be happier dropping off your wheels than mine!

I like Aquanet for that old lady hair salon smell... Reminds me of accompanying my Mom to the hair salon when I was a toddler.

It also makes a great flame thrower (just hold a match in front while spraying)

I've tried the hairspray thing and it does help but not eliminate slippage for me. Wirebrushing/cleaning/scuffing all part of the process. Myers Tire Supply sells this stuff called Slip-Tac which is supposed to help as well. I have to use something as a lube while mounting the tires on my machine. If I don't, sometimes the rubber binds and can chunk/tear the inside of the bead where it seals. I have often thought of just balancing the wheel without the tire, mount the tires, rebalance and anything less than an ounce or two just not worry about it since sometimes the tires will be 180 degrees off the original mount position by the time they wear out. I guess the problem lies from the CCW wheels being so smooth on the bead surface. Weird though, even with the tires rotating I have never had any bad vibrations from a tire moving around on the rim.

Slip-Tac did not work for me; maybe you'll have better luck.

At 180 degrees slip, the weighted wheel/tire is about 200% out of balance (if it stabilizes there, it would best to remove the weights); surprising that doesn't cause very noticeable vibration, but if it doesn't then maybe the answer is to skip balancing the tires altogether! ;-)

I ran into the same issues with CCW and also Fiske to some extent. I taped off and media blasted in some tooth to the bead seat area of set of CCW rims that were confounding the owner.

Did it work? (Not that I've had this problem - probably don't drive hard enough...)
