They were nice when I called them after receiving the wrong caliper, and they did credit my account -- but they did not pick up the return shipping cost for their mistake... And they made the mistake in the first place, even though I had an 'agreement' with the salesman that we confirm the caliper was the right one before he packed it up and shipped it to me...

Honestly, there must be something wierd about Carerra rear calipers, because 2 vendors shipped me SC calipers 'by mistake', before realizing they didn't have the right ones in stock, Porsche's dealer network was backordered for at least 3 months, and even Pelican's web site indicated they were out of stock. But I finally called Pelican twice and found out they had them...

Just wanted to throw something out for you guys. The current PAP-Parts is under new ownership (since April of 2003) and is MOST DEFINITELY NOT the same company as talked about in the older threads on the Pelican board. We are doing our best to shake the old reputation associated with the name and we're doing it one step at a time. We are legit and out to serve you guys the best we can.

We try to check as many of the Porsche forums as possible when we have time. I'll cut this short, as this is not intended to be spam - just an attempt to reach out to the enthusiasts to let you know what is going on with us.

Thanks for the clarification, Scott.

Good luck to you.

Fellow Dorkis:

Scott from PAP read my previous posting about the caliper mixup I had last year. He contacted me this morning to apologize for the problems, and spent part of the day today researching the history of my order. He has graciously offered to refund the return shipping cost I incurred.

I want to thank him for joining the Board, offering support to the Dorki movement, and for resolving my issue from 1-1/2 years ago.

I'm trying not to be too sappy here, but I think it's good having vendors (and shop mechanics) on this BB because it helps everyone stay on friendlier terms, and aids in dispute resolution.

Oh, and he is giving me a brand new 3.6L tall block! (j/k)

Now that’s customer service :!: :!: Since you’re getting the 3.6 “Long Block“ can I have that tired old 3.2 boat anchor you have now :?: I’ll put it to good use just riding “around the neighborhood and up/ down a short stretch of 395” .

Dave R - Consider the 3.2L 'yours'! Just as soon as I take delivery of that 3.6, and perform the swap (which I will do by myself, unassisted), you can come by and load up the ol' anchor! Okay, now hold you breath until I call! :)

p.s. If you pass out and happen to breathe while you are unconscious, the deal is 'off'!

David - I can't ship your new engine to a PO box, so why don't I just send down a complete 993 TT instead?

Scott

Scott, just use my address for shipping that bad boy. I'll get it over to David's house...eventually.
