Great weather, too! And the ice cream was a very nice touch at the end of such a hot day!

Fun day yesterday at the Jefferson for Auto-X #3. This event is obviously much more difficult, logistically, than the others and the volunteers did an incredible job. Some early timing issues got sorted, the weather was perfect and the pizza was delicious. ; )

Was a mixed day for me; had a blast instructing and really enjoyed seeing a bunch of people improve their times. The old car ran well and and I really felt like I was hustling her. Actually was working on braking a bit earlier and I think I liked the results. That said, I'm a "boob" and manged to cone every single run (didn't think, even I, was capable of that) ...pretty disappointing as I think the car had a top 10 in her.

Coulda/woulda/shoulda video below. Think it was a 51.2...

I already posted this in the DE forum but figured it might be appreciated here also:

Best quote of the weekend. I was instructing at the autocross today. Robbie pulls up for his runs. He's never seen the course. I ask him if I can ride along.

Me: Want me to give you some course guidance since you haven't seen the course yet?
Robbie: No, that wouldn't be necessary

And it wasn't. Love the confidence. Had a blast riding along!

Just looked at the list of cars - someone has a 1960 Corvette listed. If that isn't a typo - how cool!!! :D

If I can get my 1999 Saab 9-3 running, we'll have that in the mix. How cool!!!

Very cool! I had an '82 900 Turbo many years ago. Lot of fond memories with that Saab... :D

Great weather at the event yesterday. Thanks to the volunteers who get up waaay too early and get home waaay too late on a Sunday. Another fun and challenging course. Nice to see a bunch of "guest" cars out there too (lots of pesky fast Miatas!). I wish there were some more old cars willing to come out. Most of the Porsches are of the REWC/MEWC variety. Would love to see some more aircoolers or even some FEWCs so be sure to sign up for next months event.
