I thought you country folk were supposed to be all friendly-like? ;)

Congrats!

Don't scare the little fella too much. It sounds like your daughter is a pretty tough girl so he may have enough to worry about. A bloody baseball bat on the seat of the car that he has to move to get in is a nice touch though.

Have you thought of the super nice guy approach so he'll feel guilty about his intentions?

Just kidding! Scare the crap out of him!

Devon has already asked me to be nice to him, I just told her I would simply be myself, to which she replied, "Oh $hit" :)

If it's raining, hand him a portable DVD player with that scene from Annie Hall, where the brother tells Woody Allen about his urge to drive head-on into traffic, and then a scene or two later is driving him to the airport (in a Porsche, of course). :D

PS: Like the Freddy Kreuger!

Remember the movie Clueless? The father figure played by Dan Hedaya was extremely protective of his daughter. At one point in the movie he says to a boy who has arrived at the house to pick up daughter Cher for a date: "If anything happens to my daughter, I've got a .45 and a shovel. I doubt anybody would miss you."

Pineapples.

I may not drive a Porsche but I can sure pronounce it right!
Thank you all for the comments, it is truly touching to see how many strangers (however strange y'all might be) thank me and all the other service members for their duty.
An update since my dad fails at it: Hawaii is freakin' awesome. Being military police however requires training that is only self-taught. The art of thumb twiddling.
