I'm not listening to you evil people.... I'm trying to save my money for de's, gas, food, hotels and, of course, tires and you're telling me
to blow it on some totally un-sexy rods that you stick into a greasy hole (they are not even chrome!).... not nice, not nice at all

there's an unquantifiable satisfaction factor that comes out of beating on a "daily driver" (it's almost road legal, has a horn,
blinkers, luxurious interior)

besides, I already have a daily driver, I just don't like driving it as much as the green car

Dave... err, Dr. Phil,

Ok, so it's not a porsche, but the gen 1 Golf/Rabbits are hella sweet. Was toying with the idea of searching for a Gen 1 or 2 GTi before I settled with the 944.

Mike,
They are really fun cars, and in today's traffic, they feel pretty small too. I'm not even sure if it cracks 2000lbs. I keep harping about it but it was the best sight-unseen $1k ebay special I ever found ;)

It refuses to break down and if you know what to look for, will last for years and years. I feel guilty b/c other than cap/rotor/plugs I've done nothing for it. I think it's time for oil change....

LOL, that's funny. Table is cool but I'd prefer a more exotic part. Maybe an old F1 head

Love the "injection"!

Go to Ebay they’re dumping old F1 Jaguar parts (don’t worry there’s no stigma of low price).

I see someone's GTi has at least one "security" upgrade in the form of those "armor plates" by the notoriously easy to "pick" door locks. Neat car's.. Sub 2000lbs and even with only 90hp a kick to drive.

Thanks for the tip Dave. I'll browse...

To the 'racer' Dave,
yeah the armor plates do their job allright, but if you look real closely at the passenger side door, you'll see where a crackhead has managed to find a weak spot. Instead of glass in the little triangle part, it's just duct tape. (It's been that way since LAST March LOL.- the other security device, more like a "deterrent" is the fact that I *still* have the broken glass on the passenger floor. Makes it more "ghetto" and less desirable, I think.) Now the only soundtrack is the tectonics pipe capped off w/ a cherry bomb at the end. It is a blast to drive, especially when you don't care about potholes etc. It has a shorter geared Scirocco tranny so it moves very well............................. but only up to 80mph
I wish I had the time/$$ to fix that car.
