Autocross #2 is this Sunday! We had several unused walk-up and no-show slots at AX #1, so don't be afraid to decide to come out at the last minute. Walk-up slots are $60 cash.

Don't forget to register for Autocross #3 at Porschefest -- on SUNDAY this year. If you've never done it, the course is set up on the hill of the Jefferson Circuit. Insanely fun.

DE drivers are $20 (for 4 runs) and we'll work you in. You are NOT registered for AX just because you registered for DE. Go here: https://www.motorsportreg.com/events...ounders-828545

There will be a DE AX registration table at DE registration on Friday morning.

Went great! Nice weather, full house, and LOTS of new autocrossers. I haven't counted, but we had close to 25 people who had autocrossed 4 or less times ever. Brian Hair from OG Racing came out and drove Vranko's car. He was in the lead for most of the day (he ran in heat one) until Dean Moheet pulled out an epic win in his last run. Dean was genuinely shocked and delighted. His first FTD, I think.

Bill C. came in 3rd, followed by Vranko and then a GREAT showing by Ed Wright in 5th place. Bikepump brought out Carmine for the first time ever and placed 6th. Vranko, Bikepump and Bill lined up one after the other in heat two. Made for a loud start to every run.

The basic course map looked straight forward. Oh but Howard put some interesting elements in that awarded good, smooth inputs. You'd be sweeping along and bam! -- sharp turn.

Very little timing problems, which kept us on schedule and allowed time for fun runs. Jim casually mentioned to thelittlemrs how nice it would be to have ice cream; so Pat took the initiative and surprise -- ice cream bars appeared at the end of the day. Hit the spot!

We missed a lot of our regulars at this event. Vacation time. But we had several regulars who kindly offered to drive in heat one so that we had some experience on course in the second heat.

Next is Porschefest/Event #3!

But how was the new-to-you Miata? Any surprises?

Autocross always surprises me how fast it is and how upset the car can get even in a small space. I've autocrossed all but my VAN/SUVS at one time or another and I am amazed how much weight transition goes on.

The Miata...well, I can't start with street pressures that's for sure. Dennis told he secret recipe and Bike pump rode right seat and pointed out some stuff. I need another bite at the apple of course.

Thanks. Well run. It was my pleasure to arrive early enough to do some course work.

Despite multiple DNFs there was very little cat calling ;) The instructor ride along was a huge win. Basically, I needed to calm the @#$% down.

PCA #4 is my next event. I'll bring a *REAL* leafblower. No offense ment yours is good for scaring cats and not much else.

You win the most resilient award!

We'd love to have you come with a better leafblower -- the more, the merrier.
