Well an update. Basic training is officially over on thursday. She has gone from recruit to squad leader, qualified 48 out of 50 with her M16, 48 out of 50 with her side arm, and passed lever 5 of her PT. Level 2 is all that was required. They are in the cleaning up phase of training, in other words it is over, and they are just riding the clock. They start AIT on friday. She will be home for the Christmas exodus on the 19th of December. Her boyfriend is comming on on the 18th. hehe he gets to spend a day with dad, I doubt mom can help this poor lad.
