Hey Chris,
For hardware, I've had good luck with these 2 vendors. http://www.boltdepot.com/ http://www.metricmcc.com Let me know what you're looking for. I have some leftover stuff from my suspension replacement but probably not the length you're looking for. |

Update 5.June.2007:
Well, this weekend was pretty much a bust as far as car work went. But, I did get some help tonight from BlackTalon so I decided to remove the one thing left in the car: Attachment 5428 That should make the fuel line thing easier. BTW - a lift is the GREATEST. TOOL. EVAR. I will not debate this. Now, the axles were off, but other than that nothing was prepped on the car other than the oil was drained. Dave actually did most of the prep work while I assembled the new ATV jack and made a maple pallet to support the engine. We also BSed and drank beer, and the engine was out of the car in < 3 hours. Oh, and I got my new Miata battery. Here it is getting a test fit: Attachment 5429 It is literally 1/3 the size of the old semi battery I had. |
It's pretty interesting how everything is coming apart. I really admire you're attention to detail. Hopefully you'll be able to get it all back together with plenty of time left before your next DE.

Looking good Chris....I've been quietly following your progress on this thread. I'm curious....why did you pull the motor?....was the 3 hours to remove it purely to make fuel lines easier....surely there is more to that story (or was it just to see what a truly bare tub looks like)? Also, why the miata battery? Obviously it is much lighter, but I'm wondering why you chose that over the ever popular Odyssey dry cell?
Obviously we won't be seeing you at SC this weekend, but I hope you can get things done on schedule for the rest of the season. You damn Marylanders live a long ways away....but I'd be happy to lend a hand when you start to realize the mountain of work you have left to do near the end (and you WILL). We share many of the same OCD traits....and proud of it! Keep us posted. |
