Definitely a kit but still nice & expensive! 550s did have wide 5 bolt pattern & drum brakes. Stickers on roll bar make it Look like “it’s been there done that though”. The real ones are about as rare as hen teeth too.
There’s a company in England that makes a “kit” that uses the original drawings, substituting glass for aluminum. They also make 5/4 kit (just a little bigger for 6s). Prices for kit less running gear $25+K  |
The 550 was a Beck replica. A real driver too. I'm selling the guy my 6&7x16 fuchs and chatted w/ him for a while. BTW, why do you bring a 550 replica to a swap meet and try to buy a bunch of large parts?

Trailer the 550 from West Podunk MA, park the truck & trailer at the hotel. “Style” at the meet, pick up junk after w/truck. The 550 had an impressive number of stickers & a nice patina of “crud” on the chaises. Looked like a driver!

I went up in the morning with my 12 year old daughter. She says she has to have a Porsche when she turns 16.
I did not not find the set of wheels I was looking for. However, since I did not want to go home emptyhanded, I picked up a set of koni coil-overs and koni rear shocks for my 951. Price was just right! I ran into Marc and Chris. Stopped at a Dairy Queen on the return trip home. Had a great day. See you on the 22nd. |
