Well pretty much everything that can be removed is. I am going to bundel all the wiring into a protective wrap and make arrangements to have the car taken to the paint and body man. Then start working on all the parts I have removed. Clean, strip, paint and repeat.

Wow, you are making great progress on that car. Did you fix the hole in the back seat section ? The rust is most likely from a leaking rear window seal.

So you just get the outside painted. The rest of the car must be in good shape.

Nice to see another car get some good treatment.

Cheers
Engelbert

Looking great!

I am not a welder or body guy. I can operate wrenches and tools. The guy I am having do the body work is a restoration guy so he welds, smooths the panels and paints.

Well after a 2 week hiatus for my sons wedding. I keep fiddling with things. Took all the calipers and brake lines off so I can rebuild them. I keep telling myself that I am done and to send it off then I think of one more thing. Power washing on Friday seems like a good idea to get all the oil and dirt build up off. I told him he could have it at the end of August.

Washed out Decades of dirt and grime and created a pond. Then forced air into all the openings to blow out the water.

When Kurt had his car dipped, the sludge, soundproofing, and coatings that came off I believe came to >70 pounds. Your car looks close to ready of that treatment, so you might consider it (although your paint on the doors and quarters looks pretty nice...).

Kurt, feel free to correct me on all points...

Loaded it up and dropped it off at the body shop. Now all I have to do is wait and clean and repair the rest of the parts . I will try not to stop and check up on it before Friday.

I'm sorry to report, sir, that you have now proceeding way past the point of a "driver level restoration" and are now into the "legacy build" zone. Nice work!
