Paid. Maybe twice :) Looking forward to it. Starting my 5,000 calorie a day diet in prep for the weigh in...

First event of the season is Monday!

I'm excited that this is the first year we've had a wait list -- it's shaping up to be a good season.

Collin -

Mondays event was so much fun. I now know why humans have ears. It keeps the smile from wrapping around your face.
We managed to snap a picture of some of the participants. Enjoyed every minute.

Collin, thanks for organizing and running such a great event. Nice to see half the field are Dorkis.

I wasn't feeling great but still swept up in my first karting experience. I promise to keep black tape over my Dorki tattoo until I get into at least a not-last run group. Those things are a handful and like life often presents me - a rich land of unexplored learning - sigh.

The rest of this is for Gary - no one else needs to keep reading:

Tina wants to speak to someone in authority to explain just exactly what we were doing last night. I woke up in the middle of the night in agony with cramps up the very insides of both thighs. I told her I must have been choking out Number 5 the whole heat trying to turn it like a horse. When I told her a rubber tank of go juice was strapped between my legs she thought I was speaking in euphemisms and rolled back over to her side of the bed and started snoring. Really, honey...

Favorite part of the evening was watching Vranko's imitation of one of those Chinese lucky cats with the bobble-arm that waves good luck. Bump-Handwave. Bump-Handwave. Bump-Handwave. Bump-Handwave.

My sincere apologies for holding up a certain someone in the last heat

2nd favorite part was Collin's imitation of David Carradine's mentor in Kung Foo.

Quote:

Me: Number Five is not Alive. No rear grip at all.
Collin: One of the joys of karting is becoming one with each car, learning its unique value in the universal scheme, adjusting yourself to be in harmony with kart, and to always remember.... it is not a winning game.... for you. You are only racing against yourself and the large black and red cubes of foam. Currently, they are winning. Man up. (some paraphrasing)

Jim: Five sucks
If I can continue to improve my times I hope to finish the last heat next time before everyone has left for the night. Embarrassing pulling into the pits while the lights were shutting off one-by-one behind me on the track. Felt like Harry Potter.

Haha, last night was a blast. This year is shaping up to be excellent; gobs of competition last night and great attitudes all around.

And yeah, Kart 5 was shite.

So true. Excuse me, pardon me, my bad, please don't black flag me...
I got my payback though when I was punted out of competing for 1st against Kahlil. What a blast that run was though. Great event and fairly clean driving by the entire group. Especially with all the new members.

Kart 5 sucked. It's a fact.

Baywatch 01-20-2015 08:12 PM

Kart 11 was good.
