Yeah, I talked to Walt about the PDK at length. Pretty much convinced him it is a piece of crap and really no more than a handicap to any racecar. ;)

All kidding aside the downside to the PDK is that you cannot defeat the PSM. W/O PDK you can disable the PSM completely. Kind of a pain in the butt. I asked him to make the Cayman R related changes for GTB1 in the mid year rules. The SPB related stuff was all logical clarifications.

It is a real stretch for the cayman to be ready for the Potomac race but I am shooting for it.

Mid-year rules are out! Cayman Rs with PDK are allowed the advantage for 2013, but will probably be given a compensatory higher weight for 2014.

Paul - I had heard of someone disconnecting their yaw sensor to basically turn off PSM. If you cut into the wire somewhere very hidden and applied a (also hidden) switch, it would be cheating...

Yes you can put a switch on the ground cable for the yaw sensor which defeats the PSM and that is legal. But on the PDK cars if you disconnect the yaw sensor you loose the auto downshift capabilities w/ rev match.

So, if you want the PDK Sport+ magic you need PSM.

I run with the yawl sensor switched off because if I don't and run in sport+ mode my brakes self destruct. With the yawl sensor off, it will still rev match on downshift, but shifts are slower. I find that I have to drive manually shifting to keep the car in the right gear. This is especially true in places like SP turn 6-7. Not running in sport mode also affects other settings in the car such as throttle mapping. I'm waiting for someone to figure out a better way to switch off PSM without losing sport+.

Barry good to know.. I'll follow up with a PM

Babe Ruth's called shot was the home run hit by Babe Ruth of the New York Yankees in the fifth inning of Game 3 of the 1932 World Series, held on October 1, 1932, at Wrigley Field in Chicago. During the at-bat, Ruth made a pointing gesture, which existing film confirms, but the exact nature of his gesture remains ambiguous. Although neither fully confirmed nor refuted, the story goes that Ruth pointed to the center field bleachers during the at-bat. It was allegedly a declaration that he would hit a home run to this part of the park. On the next pitch, Ruth hit a home run to center field.

Yep, What ^ said. FWIW here's some pics of disabling the yaw sensor on my 2007 Manual Cayman S. Unfortunately it disables Sport Mode also and I loose the increased throttle sensitivity (which I'm used to for heel/toe :bang:).

Sensor location. Right next to driver's right foot.

Paul, I can't wait to see the Cayman at the Club Race.
