OK, I know this may draw some ire.....but here's a video (link from RL) from the other car's perspective.

I'm not trying to define any blame, disrespect Rob, or blow the discussion up. But I think review and study of situations is a healthy education for everyone, particularly those that want to go racing.
It does appear that Rob was clearly on the inside heading towards T4. But the other car did make a strong run thru T3, and was clearly racing with 609. Although 609 was trying a legitimate block into T4, the lesson I'm taking away is that the line chosen made 609 vulnerable at the point of impact; 609 went for a wild ride while the other car barely noticed it.
I think what I would have preferred to do is simply head for the apex, defending my right to get there first. Even at a slight loss of speed by having started mid-track, I think it would have been very difficult for the other car to have maintained the outside line into T4, without scrubbing off a lot of speed, too. In most cases, I find the inside car has more control through the corner, particularly between matched vehicles.
I'm not saying the other car is without blame. But it seems to me that 609 was not an innocent victim, either. Yes, the other car could have backed off (good idea) or put 2 wheels in the dirt (not so good idea). It almost seems that neither really did something intentional to the other. But 609's reliance to try and get closer to the correct turn-in point may have been a factor. FWIW, I've learned how vulnerable a leading car can be in a situation like that.
