Got to use the horns for the first time on the road yesterday. At the exit of the Fairfax Home Depot, a Prius driver in front of me is sending a text message or playing with himself while the light is red. The light turns green and the 2 cars in front of him go, but he stays there not paying attention.

I lay on the horns, but the light is already turning yellow because Mr. Prius is not triggering the sensor. The air horns blow/push the Prius through the light which has now turned red. I don't go through the red light, but my wife and I sit and laugh for another cycle.

(Horns are hidden under the truck)

Jim, does your F350 have a plow package? Im considering getting a plow for mine, but Im not sure youre supposed to without the proper plow package?

I just got a Ford ESP plan caus I dont trust the 6.Blow. It says it covers "• Drive Axle Housing (And Front Axle Housing for 4x4) Including All Internal Parts"", does that mean the diff. is covered?

Regarding the plow, I have small "personal plow." See http://www.snowbear.com/page/88inch_Personal_Snowplow I got it about 10 years ago for about $1,000 at an end of the season clearance. It is fine for driveways, gravel roads, etc. Better than the $3,500 they charge for a full size plow.

A regular plow will put a lot of weight on your front springs. The truck may or may not be rated for it, but I personally would not worry about overloading the front. You can probably get upgraded springs for the front if it's really an issue.

As to the extended warranty, you probably will get some use out of it. I'm not familiar with the warranty, but it appears that it does cover the front and rear diff, at least that's the way I read it.

Im just scared of putting a plow on and them saying... your truck wasnt equipped w/ plow package, sorry warranty d9d!

I was looking at some bling used plows with all the bells and whistles. Would be cool plowing out my entire street before Mont. County got there. They take forever!

If you use your truck to plow streets, I'd bet the warranty company would attempt to deny your claim for drive-train related issues, even if you did have a plow package on the truck.

I was very happy with the performance of the torsen rear diff in the snow today. I was going up a hill on 3-lane snow covered road without any cars around me. Having both rear wheels spinning makes for some fun drifting. I was using my skid pad skilz, but my wife was nervous going up a hill with the rear end hanging out.

Plowing went well with the new diff, until I tried to stop on a very slick hill. The truck rotated 90 degrees and came close to hitting two trees, but it didn't. I was going about 1 mph and I thought I had a brake failure. Truck was just sliding and rotating at 1 mph for about 5 seconds. Talk about slow motion.

I had a 30 year old winch powered by jumper cables which worked amazingly well. Pulled me out in just a few minutes.
