I'll simply place myself in line. On a bit of an old Honda kick right now. Just bought a 1971 CL175 to join the heard. Another old Honda would fit in. It'd up me to 5 total. Good company.

Just to keep it from dying an agonizing death in MarkMs garage of horrors, I'll put my name in the hat.

x2^, would be nice to see it fixed up properly, cleaned and polished, tuned and tended, running great, ridden, and put to actual use, as opposed to being sent to sandford and sons purgatory and stuck in somebody's let's-see-how-many-i-can-accumulate collection of broken down free stuff and junk.

accordingly, put me in line. and if i win it i'll give it to charlie.

i don't need it for my own collection of non-running old motorcycles that someday i'll get around to fixing when i'm not too busy living. but would like to see it find a happy home.

Give it to Charlie! And if you need to get it out of the way it can sit over here till he can pick it up. Promised the wife I wouldn't get another bike but never said anything about storing one for someone else!

Funny guys. Only one of my bikes isnt running right now. Hell, only 2 of the cars isnt in running condition and that'll be down to one soon too. ( the ones I have here)

Neat! From the symptoms you describe... Is it a twin-carb?

IME, If fuel overflows then a float isn't shutting off the valve. Either there is crap on the valve/seat or the float has a hole and ain't floatin' anymore.

Japanese inline 4 = 4 carbs.

if only I had the space...
just recently did a re-jet of my gs500f, but have really started liking the looks of older bikes.

He's not a dorki, but my friend had to sell his ducati to help pay for his wedding and has been itching to get a bike. he might be a good candidate

Ah great -- thanks for the clarification Stephen.

I once had a YZ400F with the worst damn float ever conceived (Keihin). The metal tab that adjusted the float height was so finicky it was ridiculous. Fortunately the rest of carb was pretty well designed and was able to pump some serious power through it.

Ever work on those old Hitachi (or was it Mikuni? Can't remember) carbs on the 240Z's? The devil does exist, and he lives inside their jets.

Edit: I think it was the Mikunis. Yuck.

My name is Kurt and I am a project packrat.

I am up to my eyes in projects, cars and other, and I am looking at this bike thinking "A day or 2 spent on carbs and the a few evenings spent Tigging up a cafe style tank, seat and side covers out of scrap AL would make a cool rat bike."

I gave up riding many years ago have 0.00 time. Project packratting is a sickness and I am powerless. Do not put me on the gimmie list for this bike even if I ask.....
