Not quite unless I got the wrong impression from Stuttgart Performance. Jeff at ASG said the PPI would be $247 includes a leakdown, If I wanted major service (adjust valves, oil change, filter change, etc) its would be around $1000 but he said that that price would be discounted since the PPI over laps some of the major service items, he said the price would be around $1,000 all together. The impression I got from Stuttgart performance is major service starts at $1,000 (parts not included) and goes up from there , plus you pay for the PPI at the levels you select.
I think the $500 PPI would carry the leakdown or compression tests add that to the major service theres a difference in numbers....I don't know these shops since I am in the southwest, but I am sure they are both good in thier fields. I am just going with ASG, talked to them first and Jeff was really reassuring to me...

You may have got the wrong impression, but it's difficult to get the right impression without going to the shops with the car and meeting the people you talk to over the phone (being in AZ, it's something you obviously can't do).
Matt is an expert wrench, how I feel, if I want something done right and done thoroughly, I take it to him. He's been in the game for a while, and I have yet to meet someone in this area that is as knowledgeable as he is when it comes to Porsches. I've heard good things about ASG, however for their price I highly doubt they will check everything on Matt's list. But then again,I haven't had any experience with ASG and I could be wrong.
Send me a PM if you want me to take a look at the car and give you my novice opinion on it.

These cars are rust proof, only when maintained and stored in the right weather conditions. Being that it's a Florida car and you already know there is some rust on it, I can tell you that there is probably more rust hiding behind the paint and in areas under the carpeting. Especially since it's a Targa. That being said, I haven't seen the car and I could be wrong.
However most all of the east coast cars I looked at in my 911(pre 90's) buying process were infected with rust, something I really was trying to avoid. That is the reason why I flew out to Colorado to buy my SC, which is virtually rust free.
