Here's what I was talking about. I numbered each of the parts that I have.

1) The old SS line.
2) The adapter.
3) The factory hard line.
4) The new SS line.

2 and 4 won't fit together. But after trying tonight, 3 and 4 fit perfectly. It helps to have the parts diagrams -- thanks Jim.

Sounds like your in good shape.

Your 3 looks like it has the appropriate groove for the stock clip. Get some clips and you should be in good shape. From memory, fit the flex line into the tab using the clip, then connect & torque down the hard line.

Easy peasy.

Actually, #2 had the stock clip on it and the lines could each be removed individually -- leaving #2 still attached to the trailing arm and/or strut.

I have a new set of clips on order from Pelican. Hopefully they send the right parts.

My bad - I meant your [new] #4.
I dont see any real advantage in having the adapter in the mix.

Glad it worked out for you Josh.

Me either Tony. The only thing I can think of is that these lines are really old (they're brittle)...back from the days before there were Porsche specific lines available. So these were generic lines with fittings that work on american or japanese cars...thus the need for adapters. I unsuccessfully tried to install the new lines two years ago but didn't really look into it until now.

I recently made up hard lines for the Carrera brakes. It took two tries, because I just took what Olympic gave me first. I was able to find the right line/flare/fitting right in the Advance Auto. I found a nut that actually fit the old line and used that as a guide. The line was to long but I used a small jack handle to easily form a loop (brake fluid cooler?).
