Nice video of the “attack cat”. I have a commercial showing a Euro Ford that can cure the problem!

Got bored over the weekend, pulled the motor/trans out of one of the 911s behind my garage. It took just under 2 hours, I guess I'm losing my edge. One of the neighbors came over & helped after church. Good thing too, had to use his truck to separate the motor/trans!

Tim, I found that the bat tend worked for me.
There was no rhyme or reason that I could ever discover on why the battery went dead. Might go dead in 2-3 days or no problem for 6-8 weeks and no I didn't check it everyday. I check volts from alt, checked amp draws, pulled fuses and let car sit for week or 10 days, could never discover problem. Thought it might be a door switch or a stuck window switch but could never find problem.
Worked on trying to locate problem with different circuits a dozen times over the course of a year or better. I'd chase problem for a couple days, let it sit, car would start. Left everything alone, let car sit for a couple more days, car would not start. Charge battery and car would not start next day. Sometimes the battery would be down to 7-8 volts, sometimes less than 2. Would always hold charge to 12.8 or better.
Thought it might be a stuck light in truck and removed fuse with no luck.
I have no doubt that there is a switch that sometimes is stuck but have not been able to locate it.
In the mean time I use the bat tend and have had no problems as I continue to try and find the problem. :(

A tender is a great thing to add to a car that is not used often. They work by charging, turning completly off, testing and then charging again when the bat charge drops off. This is not a trickel charger! Trickel chargers will fry a battery after some time.

Please, can we keep the tech part of the site clear of large stuff not pertaining to the question or answers? Or, Does you mommy or daddy know you are using the computer on the internet and not doing your homework? ;)

Tim, found some general info on the internet about battery drains.
Slow Battery Drain
If the battery is draining overnight or over the course of a few days, some device is still turned on and draining it. To find the cause, disconnect the negative battery connection. Use your test light to jump the negative battery cable to the negative post on the battery. If the light glows, something is turned on. Disconnect fuses and/or circuits one by one until the light goes out.
Trace the circuit that was causing the light to glow to find which device is still on. Dome lights, trunk lights, alternators, and non-factory accessory circuits are common causes of such drains. Radio memories and dash clocks usually are not drains and will not make the light glow for this test.
