We met at the Taj Garage, my daughter was with me and we were checking out Eric's 4-cyl engine for rebuild and his beat-to-crap 911 engine.

I think that was Scott, "NoRustScott" in the white 914, possibly. Did he have a rider with him? Scott has antique MD tags. He was there that day with his brother and a couple of friends.

I came down Rt 15 through Frederick. I think it's a very nice drive compared to I-83 and far fewer of the constabulary.

Man, it was a beautiful day -- a real change for Hershey. I realized I had a bad sunburn when I got home.

I had a lot of fun hanging out with Pari, Tim and Chris, and thanks to them for letting me share their vendor space. I did better than I expected selling the bits and mistakes that had accumulated in my garage -- so I can buy more bits and mistakes.

One thing I bought has already turned out to be a POS. I got a jacking plate from Rennline, since I'm always misplacing the one I have. I tried to use it Sunday and it seems too short. First time, it flipped out of the jacking point on the car as I was starting to jack it up. Second time, wedged in good, it started bending the sheet metal. When I compared it to my other one, it looks 2-3 inches shorter in length. A real waste of $15. I may call the Rennline guy just so he knows the thing has a real design flaw. Anybody else try that?

Yes there was a passenger....must have been him then.

By the way, did anybody check out the Spyder that was parked behind our vendor space? Really cool.

That 550 was sweet. I'm guessing by the 4 bolt wheels that it's a kit (I thought the real ones had the wide 5 bolt pattern like old 356s and VW Beetles). Anyone know for sure? Even if it is a kit, it was still pretty damn nice!

scott 04-26-2004 04:08 PM

Vu that was me and my brother. I pushed the little four pretty hard on the way home. along about the MD line ... up to 4500 rpm in 5th... Notice I did not pass you! ;)

That was really a killer day. Hey Jim, you could have used that 75 bucks to bargain with Bruce on that sheet metal ...lol
