Have Matt look at it, you wont find anyone more honest. If a bad transaxle (I thought engine?) you can swap with used and hope or rebuild. Hard to give an est. without looking inside. Bearings and syncros are much cheaper than gears, sliders...

Transaxle? so it is the transmission you need to replace...they can rebuilt for 3-4k...or as stated above get a used one and swap it in...
