I thought the point of a PPI is that the inspecting shop not have a relationship to the seller. I feel your pain though. I ran into similar headaches with my GT3.

but i think it's more important to find a shop with competence and integrity who won't risk their reputation for that relationship.... |

Tell HBL you will let them do the ppi as long as you can inspect the car yourself when it is up on the lift to look at the suspension, brakes, etc., and they perform and document the results of compression and leak-down tests. And also you want to be present while a body shop person looks the car over for evidence of accident repair. That will basically just leave the electronics, which no ppi will do much for anyway.
And you could also try and hire a mechanic to go with you while HBL has the car up on the lift. |
