you may want to check some of local, independent shops to see if they will show it for you. One in Tysons comes to mind........

I believe The Classic Car Center in Fredericksburg is operating using the model you describe. They consign cars, have a nice repair and restoration center, and provide storage for classic cars. I stop by there several times a year to look at their inventory. I have never seen a Porsche there, but they have had several nice MB SL's.

Internet killed the consignment store. Its a dead business model. People who don't want to hassle w/ selling a car just trade it into a dealer. Done, no hassle, same price to them.

Maybe you should buy a newspaper instead?

There is a place on Wisconsin Ave on the right hand side just past Mazza Gallery if coming into DC.

Its an old car dealership that sells classics and exotics on consignment.. They do have a few interesting cars from time to time.. a number of Porsches have been spotted in the showroom and on the lot. And yes, the name escapes me.

Yep. The Classic Car Center in Fredericksburg sells cars on consignment; but they only handle cars of restoration or storage clients. Plus, they are muscle car-oriented. Nice folks. I've spent time there and it's a neat operation.

I've wanted to do this for years. Asked Dave Olimpi about it his 'model', but he never got back to me. If I remember correctly, he also is a high end real estate guy. From what I remember when researching it, even to 'consign' in Virginia you have to have a dealer's license.
