Piss me off but I can't remember who told me they were doing it all!!! Sounds like it's prolly more lipstick for the pig :grrr:

You don't need to remove all the subbase in order to get a good repaving job -- the key is getting it down low enough to get enough thickness of new paving overtop, and IDing any areas of weak subbase so they can be replaced or stabilized. Let's be realistic here, asphalt repaving jobs almost never include full removal of all existing paving and subbase. The costs of that are astronomical, and there really is little basis for it.

I was more disappointed in other things Jens had to say, such as the extension of the Jefferson Circuit is tabled for now, and the planning for the So. MD track is pretty much at a standstill as well.

Oh, and they're doing it either TOMORROW or NEXT WEDNESDAY (I believe it's TOMORROW) if someone wants to go out there and take pictures. He expects the process to last a few days.

I'll see if I can break loose during lunch tomorrow or maybe after work.

Also heard that they have an "expert" that will be monitoring the process, prep and also quality & temps, etc for the asphalt when it arrives and before its laid down..

Stopped by after work today. Looks like they are getting ready to do something, but from what i saw, nothing has hit the pavement as of today.
