AFAIK, they're just regular C2s with a manual steering rack, Carrera tail, RS door panels and no back seat (except the 94s, which DID have a back seat). The one I cut up is all spot welded.

No, RSAs are not seam welded. The only BIG difference between a RSA and a C2 is the manual steering rack. The USA Cup cars are seam welded.

Edit: Jazz beat me to the punch.

Mine is 006 and is not seam welded....and none of them were as mentioned. My fenders are rolled. Apparently the first 100 or so were because of the jump from 16 to 17" wheels on NB 964s.....which is also probably why the Cup 1 rears were 8s instead of 9s. I read the factory was concerned about rubbing....which is rubbish IMO w/ 255s.

I'd like to think I got a leftover RS motor, but my engine is stamped M64/01.

Neat pics. IIRC, the 964 was some 80% new compared to the 911. Almost all of that was not visual, save for the front trunk. The entire tub was strengthened, for both racing and AWD. Cool pics. At the car shows they never show you these kind of "cutaway" views!

At the Porsche museum in Stuttgart there is a Cayman S that is cut down the middle. Very cool to see how everything fits together.

I'm pretty sure 1/4 of an RSA is still faster than a 944.

That's because they used a München Schneidenzalle.
