Discovery channel or TLC had a show about the Mason's recently.

They are not a secret club, just a club with secrets.

I remembered where I was reading about the Masons. Smithsonian magazine. Gave a history and background to the order and discussed the modern activities. The Masonic temple is open for tours. Enrolment is down from 4 mil in 1959 to 1.5 mil today and declining. D.R .they might take you now. Too bad you lost your nice white jacket. That would have been the ticket in. ;)

About tours; back in the day, when I worked for Ma Bell I got a call to trouble shoot and repair a payphone in the GW lodge in Alex. The grand pupa wouldn’t give me access because I wasn’t a member (higher floor). Never did hear if it ever got fixed. Uncle on my fathers side (his sister’s husband) was “high in the order.” After the stroke he spent the last years of his life hiding behind the couch. Afraid the Mason’s were going to kill him so he wouldn’t rat them out. Funnier because it was around the same time he decided he didn’t like cloths. Couldn’t find the golf course but once there could hit his handicap. Though taking his cloths off mid round put a lot of people off their game :oops: :lol:
