I've known many air-cooled 911 engines that went >200,000 miles without a rebuild, but they usually weren't driven on the track. The only reason my car needed a rebuild was that I shifted into 2nd gear at 95 MPH (in a car what was 15-years-old at the time).

Your right!
I knew plenty of VW bugs that spun the clock a couple times in the old days, but they weren't putting down the HP of a porsche either, and even if the motors were sick you just keep driving it and they would go, nobody is gonna treat a 911 like that.
I hope if I do get an air cooled 911 it goes 200k. |
