FWIW, I did a couple of DE's in Sparco shells with 3-point belts. Worked great.

Well done Chris, glad you got it all sorted out. :)

Update 13.July.2007

Got the rollbar in last night. What a PITFA. That said, the fit is great. The Safety Devices bars/cage fit better than any other bar I've seen, save for something from Piper.

New rear tires are on, too. My rear tires had about 5-6 events on them, and the fronts had only one. I decided to get new rears that way I wasn't chasing after "suspension" issues that were really "tires in the back don't have as much grip" issues.

So what's left? Bed in the new PF97s and flush brake the system again. Reinstall harnesses on new bar and reinstall passenger seat. Corner balance and align. Install brake deflectors. Install rear sway bar and drop links for fronts.

The big, big thing is the alignment. Everything else is do-able. I'm going to go bed in the brakes right now and get started on the alignment. Wish me luck.

Good Luck! You've got 20 hours until your first run session -- that's way more time then you should need :-)

Maybe he should be bumped to green ... It will give him an extra 2 hours to get ready :D

Good Luck Jazz......but don't sweat it too much. You've got a running, basically completed car....so just go out and drive it....just back it down a bit. IMO, the corner balance is non-critical unless it is WAY out of whack, and you can really spend the time to get this perfect later on....it won't affect the car THAT much (especially while you have an all new suspension to adjust to). The same goes for the alignment, get it as close as you can in the time you have....but the car will be drivable and still plenty quick even if it isn't 100% optimum....and you'll have time to fine tune it later. My point is....don't miss the weekend or even the day because you are concerned that it's not perfectly tuned.

Also, make sure that you TEST the harness length on both seats by strapping fully into the car....don't just guess. It sucks to roll up to the grid and realize that you don't have enough adjustment in the straps to get it tight/loose enough (I'm sure you probably already knew this though).

See ya tomorrow!

Excellent advice, Andy. Thanks.

Just got back from bedding in the new brakes. Ugh... I think I'm going to hurl :vomit:. The only thing worse than the smell of cooking brakes is burning clutch. Couple that with "speed up" now "slow down" and I'm popping Tums and drinking a Coke.

BTW - the brakes? Holy.f**king.shit. When the pads got up to temp, I thought I was going to go through the windshield.

Nice!
You need a brake after this project!

Sweet! Combined with the lower weight, you'll be spinning out in the braking zones all weekend. It will be like TD and VaSteve in their 944s

err, and me at T1 at WG a couple weekends ago
