I don't think that's a quote from me. I didn't encourage you to maximize your speed in a botched situation. Instead I encouraged you to not over react when you where off line and risk upsetting the car/spinning. Although on one occasion I did say "that's about as fast as you want to go through this corner" ....
...We worked on some advanced stuff but maximizing exit speed when you're out of shape wasn't one of them. :)

I'll admit, I was paraphrasing/reading between the lines. Hey, I never said I would make a good journalist...(or hey, maybe I'd make the PERFECT journalist!)
Seriously though, thanks for correcting me -- I should've focused my phraseology on the "smoothness" and "controlling the car's balance". I particularly value your advice re: smoothing down when trying to get the car back under control. I would assume that once the smoothness is mastered, an outcome (i.e., a downstream point of focus) of this would be "maximizing one's speed", yes? Irrespective of how this speed may compare to being on-line in the first place. "Maximizing speed" should only come once the car is under control -- i.e., not until White/Black/Red group! :D Perhaps a better verb might be "Optimizing speed"?
