Kevin, thanks for a great event today. I didn't take a lot of pics enroute cause it was more fun driving. Cool cars at the Shenandoah Circuit, except for the pace car in front of me... here some photos and hope to see others post also:

The ride out was great, but my ride home was even betterrrr?! Nothing like a flat bed transport for 2 hours. Car will be fine again soon. Great day Kevin! And everyone else, we have the best club, and cheaper, relatively, than Ferrari's.

I thoroughly enjoyed today's run to Summit. A very large group limited track time to 15 minutes for our session but it was worth it to learn the track. It was also fun creating a gap between myself and the car ahead of me and attempting to push the car through some of the turns before catching up to the car in front again. A lot of beautiful cars on a beautiful day with Porsche friends. What more could you ask for?

Were you behind my slow ass Rosewood (brown) Targa? "Attempting" to push through the turns is an accurate statement.

I want to thank everyone for the great day, Kevin you put on a great event, Bruce thanks for lending my friend a helmet. As always the people made the event.
This is my first time attempting to post photos. I also have in car video and I was going to post a lap; however, I do not know how or where to host video and post. Please PM me if you have some good ideas and I will get a lap up for everyone to view.

Thanks to Kevin for organizing a fun event and to Vu, Mitch and others for making the drive up to Summit point "exhilarating".
Here are a couple of photos from Summit Point. It was a shame we didn't have another run -- I was planning on sitting one out to take pictures of you guys. Maybe next time.

Yes Steve. That was me. I am not sure what type of car was ahead of you though. Didn't look like a Porsche.

I built up a big gap between me and Dan while I was trying to figure out which way the track went. Once I figured it out, they let additional cars out. I had the world's slowest driver in an Acura RSX in front of me. I'm not sure if he had ever driven that car before, let alone on the track. It was painful for me to be behind him.
Still had a lot of fun though.

Thanks for a great time everyone. It was my first time with this group, but it wont be the last. The drive up was very nice. Good thing Mr. Police Officer on Rt-340 had someone already pulled over, because my speedo was reading more than the legal limit before we saw him.
I have already burned one DvD copy of my in-car video and some of its not to bad. Unfortunatley you dont really get much sensation of the speed. Except on a few of the roads that were heavily wooded. On the track it looks like i could have been beaten by a couple of kids on bicycles. Its a fun circuit though, i like the corkscrew. I have pictures to post later too.
Cheers!

Great event Kevin! My cousin and I had a great time. Since I had a co-pilot, I lead one of the groups to SP. I tried to keep a good pace.
The roads up were fantastic.
The cars at Sp were phenomenal. The parade lap was slower than I expected, but it offered a great preview for my Aug 6 & 7 event.
Thanks Gary for the tunes. It's exactly the type of stuff I listen to. Keep them coming if you have the time.

What a blast!!! Nice back roads up, and some fun on the track. THANKS Kevin!!! This was my first event of this type. I let my 18 year old son have a hand on the track. He got the tires squealing in the corners. My son also got a ride in the GT1 Corvette.... they got up to 140 mph in the straights. We had an absolutly awesome time. Oh, the Ferrari's and Lambo's were way cool too.

Thanks Kevin. You ran a nice event. It was nice seeing all the different personalization's of the Porsches. There were stock cars to early 911s to blingbling 19 inch rims and GT3 seats in cars to the unwashed, rubber streaked trackcar i showed up in. Maybe I was caught in the pack but on the drive to the track things were pretty tame which was fine by me. Also, it was unfortunate the track laps were cut short but it was better than being at home doing the lawn!
As a regular at PCA track events, i wouldn't consider our lapping session as "track time" but I hope this past weekend's gentle easing into the track environment will help those that like to go fast but are on the fence about attending a DE. Driving around the track was nice but with instruction and at speed it's even better!
I have to apologize to the 944 behind me on the track! I was creeping down the straight to get some room so I could get some speed up in the twisty bits. Sorry about ruining the straights for you a couple times.

From Kevin of the PDC:
I'm extremely happy that everyone had a great time during the July 24th event. I tallied up the number of registered cars and discovered that we had 73 Porsches in attendance. WOW!!!! That's a great number. I'd like to thank everyone who got up early on a Sunday morning to join us. Thank you for supporting our event.
I tried to talk to everyone that attended. I'm glade that people thought highly of the event. Due to safety concerns with such a high turn out, FOW decided to split the lunch time touring track session into two groups. I feel this was the right decision. Despite this change, the event was still a good preview of the Shenandoah curcuit. After driving the track I really want to drive it again.
Seeing all these cars on the tour route was another joy. Must of the cars stayed together which made for a fun trip. The people in Middleburg, Upperville, and The Plains really seemed to enjoy us passing through.
The Porsche Driving Club (PDC) will be doing two more events this driving season. One will be in late September and the other in late October. Details will be released later.
Once again, thank you,
CJECKERT
