"Dum is as dum does" Forrest Gumps mother wryly observed. So it is with me. In cleaning the garage of unwanted and unloved parts for the last Hersheys swap meet I offeret my scrap clutch to the scavager gods. Firmly attached was the starter ring. I cannot forgive myself for not remembering the clutch job on my 73T in 1980 (or so), nor not reading the GD books. Got a good one? I need it for a 79SC!

I have a couple kicking around in my shop. I’ll look around and see if they will fit. But keep looking they might be for earlier cars.

I have a clutch that has a starter ring on it. It was generously given to me by Mackpipes so he will know the year. You are welcome to it if it is the right one.

If its Ted's old clutch, its an 85 Carrera size. Not sure if that is the same part as Ted's earlier car, but a quick check of part numbers on Pet should settle that question.

It appears that a ring gear from 73 to 86 will fit. Pn 91111623900.

Any offers?

Kurt, Ted thinks he may have removed the starter ring.

Oops! Sorry bud! Ted gave it to me balled up in a T shirt and it still is. Back to the drawing board. You can nab the one off my 2.7 to keep up the momentum but I will need a good one back eventually.

Take your time!
I am guilty of father of two in diapers dementia. The clutch that had the ring gear went to Texas with the itdunblowedup 3L. lump. My sourced by the Saintly Siberian 2.7 does not have a clutch on it. I too am in need of a ring gear. Duh.

"Oh ho!" said the blinde man, as he picked up his hammer and saw!

Hersheys Parts swap is Saturday, and since it is hooked to the Parade, should be a wing dinger! I expect there will be several there.

If you find two get one for me too and I will pay you back! Hows that for a turn around?
