Hey all,
Yet another suspension R/R road block. I was able to remove the roll pin from one side of a bilstien strut and now I am stuck with the other side. I've tried Kurt's favorite (LR) but have not have the courage to apply heat to it yet. So far, I have broken one drill bit, two chisels, and a hex head allen bit (don't ask, just know that I'm an idiot) which is still stuck inside the roll pin. What else can I do before i have to heat route?. Thanks. Andy

Use just the right size punch/drift and a hammer. That's the "nifty way" I used to knock the pin out of the strut. YMMV

Pari, What the right size?. I've used a large punch and the roll pin mushroomed out pretty bad. Andy

Andy,

Try punching it out from the oter side since it'll be very difficuly to push the mushroomed end through. The roll pin it larger than it appears, use a drift that totally covers the pin so you don't enlarge it by punching into it.
