It’s time to clean up and clear up the yellowed headlights on the 996.1 Carrera.
Anyone have experience with DIY that works well and provides a permanent solution.
Here is the before photo 🤮

I used the Meguiar's Heavy Duty Headlight Restoration Kit on my S6 Avant and it worked great. I'll see if I can edit this with photos from my phone...
Ouch, it was $25 in 2018 and is $45 now :(

Excellent results, how is it holding up so far?

Karl, the plastic will slowly discolor just like it did before. You'll typically get 10+ years before you need to think about it again.

Yes, that's correct. It still looks good, but I sold the car a few years back and they looked the same when he sold it again recently (after doing a manual transmission swap and other stuff).
A good way to keep it looking good is to re-apply the uv coating it comes with every 3-5 years.

Years ago, a shop cleaned our Audi's discolored headlight lenses, and they came out very out very nice. They also sprayed the lenses afterwards with clearcoat. It lasted nicely for many years (5 or 6??), until the car's engine finally failed, and we junked the car.
