Hey Vu, someone stole your ride and brought it to the meet !
That's Mike W., he and I have 2 of the 16 '87 turbolook cabriolets. Last year we displayed together at the concourse gathering. It was like seeing double:

Steve, the color is factory Porsche color from '82 it's called Psylander(sp?) Metallic, it's sort of like a root beer brown. The owner's name is Tim, I'm not sure whether he is a Dorki or not. I spoke to him about his '82 SC, he said he refinished his fuchs himself  . He bought it from someone out in Redmond, WA.
Vu, at first when i saw the other turbo cab look, I thought it was yours  .

From the guys on Pelican, I have heard about the chemicals involved in stripping fuchs  ...not for me thanks!

Hey All,
I'm the owner of the Psilander Metallic SC. Ya , The polish was tough . but the paint had already been removed. I spent some time on them this winter to get thm that clean. The paint is original and has been taken care of. I absolutely love this car and it is 99 % stock. I will try to be at the Potomac picnic and am planning to enter the concours as well.
BTW Thanks for the complements Pari and you have a great memory.

Not very likely. It has most of the must have upgrades now (turbo tie rods, cararra tensioners, ss brake lines, ss kit, lowered 2.5 ") I might be tempted to change the exaust though....

Tim, Tim, Tim. You've only scratched the surface of the must have upgrades. You're missing:
- Euro H4s
- Relays for said H4s
- 930S or Momo steering wheel
- More rubber - 9s for the rear, 8s for the front.
- Carrera oil cooler
- Bilstiens
- Gate shift kit
- Factory short shift
- Stomski shift coupler
Did I forget anything guys?
And that's only the beginning. Then we move into the full on Porsche crack habit phase. This involves trying to get money for the following:
- SSIs
- Sport exhaust of your choice
- Recaro racing seats
- Roll bar
- harnesses
- bigger t-bars
- bbigger sways
- 930 brake conversion
Personally, I'm hoping to stick to the first list exclusively. I may be fighting a loosing battle, though

First
-Absolutely No H4s
- Momo Wheel in the shelf , removed from 944 undecided
-Already got 8s and 9s
-Already insytalled Factory SS kit
-just rebuilt shift coupler
-cararra oil cooleer mmmm maybe
-bilstiens came on this car
-already mentioned ssi's, exaust
Been at this P-Car game for awhile and the 928 has a steady appitite as well. The 944 was a part pig. I rebuilt motor clutch, trans, suspension,etc...
Glad to hear you guys like to play :D But this 911 won't be seeing any track time for awhile. Too many wide drifters throwing stones. I perfer the back roads here in Winchester for play.

I'm glad I won't be the last one with stock-look headlights!! But, I'm probably going to upgrade to the higher power version with the sucro relays, but keep the look.

OK, if you guys love the droopy-eye US spec headlight look, at least put some Hella H4s in. I took Charlie's SC out for a drive in the rain one night, and his sealed beam high beams were dimmer than the low beams in my Hella H4s. I drove his car back to my house, took the Hella out of my car and gave them to him (since I have the Euro H4s ready to install). Liking the US healight look is one thing, but those sealed beam lights S U C K ! ! !

Jazzbass,
I thought about ragging on that bug eye crack addic euro headlight look but , I used restraint, Oh, was I typing out loud???
Anyhoo, I can see just fine with the US spec headlights. Maybe the one you drove had a grounding issue.
I really didn't want this thread to turn into a pissing match on whats PC or not , I just wanted to thank the author for giving my car a good comment.

Tim, don't take Jazzbass too seriously. He's just jealous because you can actually drive your 911. Chris(Jazzbass) still doesn't have a road going 911, hence the reason for all the smack talk (911 withdrawl is kicking in big time). I mean come on, will you take the advice of someone who's 911 looks like this right now: http://www.dorkiphus.com/porsche/viewtopic.php?t=1507  .
Besides, what does Chris know about a nice SC, he's a Carrera owner  . No offense was meant I am sure, he was just giving you a hard time because your SC looks so good.
The only thing I would change would be that cell phone.
Steve, I know your not talking buddy, how long did it take for you to remove your car phone, 6 months  ?
Tim, there is no need for this to be your last post, stick around and you will notice this board is actually a place where you don't need to be PC and you can poke fun at each other, all in good taste of course.

Gee. I didn't really think there was really any smack talking going on here, to be honest - at least nothing that was offensive. One comment about US spec headlights looking droop eyed and all the sudden its a flame war? Um, OK.
To be honest, I thought it was some good natured joking around to make a new member feel welcome into to our group of mod-happy, somewhat sarcastic 911 owners. One headlight comment pales in comparison to how we generally talk to each other here (look at almost any post from Pari). Sorry you so offended, Tim, because no offense was intended. I have to remember to tread lightly around the new members who aren't familiar with the culture around here.
BTW, I thought the "bug eye crack addic euro headlight" comment was funny.

Umm, Pari? Have you looked at your car recently? Carrera shifter, Carrera tail, Carrera tensioners, Carrera seats, and I'm sure you're looking into a Carrera oil cooler. The only thing your doesn't have that a Carrera does is 27 more HP, better brakes, and FI system from the 20th century.
Sometimes I think the SCWDP plot to dominate the world is to buy all of the Carreras out there and part them out to upgrade their own cars. :D

 Chris is right, you want to hear some smack talk or see a pissing match do a search for one of my threads! Chris, I know you weren't trying to start a flame war , I'm just messing with ya! Jazzbass just has a twisted way of welcoming new members to the board  . Now can we all gather around the campfire and sing Kumbya  .

Um, hello, it's Carrera shifter, tail, tensioners, and mats  . I have SC sport seats, and I plan on sticking with the trombone cooler. I will add a front valence mounted setrab. The thing my 911 doesn't have is an ECU and DME relay, just another thing you Carrera guys have to worry about. Besides, you are forgetting all that wonderful emissions equipment your Carrera has, that my SC lacks. My SC can be in a Carrera outfit all it want's, as long as it's heart is a 3.0L, it's a SC!
27 more HP, ha thats a good one  !

Tim,
Glad we didn't drive you off. These guys know that the only reason I brought up the cellphone is because I had this monster cell when I bought my car. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads2/PB150056a1069023319.jpg
As far as posting a photo, you have to upload it in the gallery. Then Right click on it to get the "path" from the Properties . Select the text of the "path". When you type your message, click on the Img button, paste the path text, then click again.
You can actually link photos from other sites, the photo above it linked from Pelican.
BTW: It looks like none of the smack talkers made the front page of Potomac Web. http://www.pcapotomac.org/pca/images/porsche%20underthe%20stars%2004.jpg
