Never been, really going to try this year. I’m not sure whether to stay over or pull an all day-er.

I go up the night before so that I don't get exhausted during the day. Thats just me I guess, because everyone else seems to drive up that day.

Drive and Dine will once again do an event. But this year because the event is on the weekend of Good Friday/Easter and the hotel prices/bookings were way off the mark, we won’t be staying in Hershey as usual. We’ll take a drive Friday and visit the Eastern Motorsports Museum in Gettysburg and then stay overnight there in a nice and historic hotel with a good rate. We’ll drive up to the Swap Meet Saturday morning, and then afterwards hopefully meet at Troeg’s. Everyone is on their own after that.
Registration will be up soon.

Never miss it. A big event for the mid-Atlantic 928 crowd. We have, as is our tradition, taken over the White Rose Motel on Friday and Saturday night. Come by and have some adult beverages and pizza on Friday night if you are nearby.

Great question Karl!
1 turbo tail GP White with deck lid, I have a straight deck lid that is in amazing condition but I'm on the fence about it, and some Hazet tool boxes. I need to go through the garage and look through all of my crap.
I bought a set of 9x16's, picking them up at the meet.
Other than that I am in need of an oil temp gauge for an SC, and looking for a good set of torsion bars "if" that exists.
--- I look forward to hanging out with you, Paul, Burt and the boys every year.

Temp gauge, like with numbers? Not sure they came with that. I updated my to degrees with a kit from pelican.

Hey Dave,
I had seen that Pelican Kit as well, I think it was $300 and it had the sender as part of the kit, honestly I’ll probably go that route.
I was just looking for stock at Hershey if I could find a good deal.
The fault is traced to the gauge, wire is good and hooked correctly, put another working sender in and gauge didn’t budge.

I really enjoyed it last year, but will be out of town over Easter so can't make it. Get there early! I sold a ton of gauges and other items and came back a lot lighter which I was very happy about. Whatever you do, don't take bumpers! I had 4 and so did every other person there and not a single one was sold in the parking lot all day! :) They are made out of aluminum so look to get cash at your local recycler.

Just bumping this, who is going this year?
Selling anything interesting?
After installing the cage, I have most of the interior from the 914 available along with a few other odds and ends.

Boy and I will be there with some other Potomac/Chesapeake guys in F7-11 for our annual "Sell stuff to Fund the Racing Habit" Event. Mostly Fo-Fo stuff from us but others have some 911/914 stuff. We will have a couple to sets of sport seats for recovering, Fuchs sets, BBS RS set, Turbo Cup mirrors, manual mirrors, manual windows, 2.7L engine, and all kinds of 44 parts we have collected. If there is something specific anybody wants me to bring, please PM.
Oh...and this little gem.

Ed Devinney and I went. First one of these I’ve been to but it felt a little under-whelming compared to some of the vintage motorcycle swap meets I’m used to attending. Maybe an unfair apples to oranges comparison? Still, it was a fun day with good company. Compared to staying home, cutting grass, whacking weeds and picking up tree limbs that blew off yesterday evening, a really good day!

10 years or so ago it was a “happening!” Then Doc & Sy went belly up and a couple other big venders dropped out....

And E bay and Craigslist etc. Remember when PCA Potomac had a "goody Store" at regular monthly meetings to swap and sell stuff!!!

I do agree that there was less people there this year, however I think that it was because of the weather and Easter.
Before I had left the weather report said 1-3 inches of rain from Friday to Saturday morning, and a tornado watch as well.
As far as vendors go I agree...What happened to Rennline being there, I was looking for something specific from them. Did Stoddard show up? I always look forward to seeing them. I know that the guys from Car-Bone showed up a couple of years ago, and that was awesome but have been absent since.
All of that said I think that the DC area should have a Hershey type swap, there would be a lot of participation...imo..

Yep, definitely apple to oranges comparison.. having done both for many years, I can say that motorcycle stuff is a lot lighter, easier to carry and in most cases doesn't take up as much space with regard to bulky parts.
It was light this year because of the unpredictability of the weather... lots of weenies in the game now as we've done these meets in the past inpouring rain, unexpected cold, snow, and glorious sunshine.. sometimes all in the same day!
Had a great time today, good to see Paul, Burt, Englebert, and Dimi, really turned out to be a nice day after all.
Bill, good to see you as well as the other Potomac, Riesentöter, Chesapeake, Delaware, First Settlers, Blue Ridge, Schattenbaum, Central Pa, Peachstate Northeast, Suncoast, Great Plains, Metro NY, Upper Canada, OhioValley,NNJR, Jersey Shore, Kansas City, Golden Gate,Carolinas, Alabama, Florida Crown, Gold Coast and Los, Angeles members I have met over the many years I've been doing this swap-meet thang!
10 years or so ago it was a “happening!” Then Doc & Sy went belly up and a couple other big venders dropped out....
You are absolutely correct Dave. There has been a huge consolidation in the aftermarket and/OEM parts market and its still going on. The used parts market is weird now too again with all the newbs and their over inflated egos along with the prices for their junk!
And E bay and Craigslist etc. Remember when PCA Potomac had a "goody Store" at regular monthly meetings to swap and sell stuff!!!
Dirk
Ebay, craigslist, and several online forums have definitely had an effect as well. And yes, Potomac used to have a "goody Store" as well as an annual swap-meet that was pretty well attended until the net was at full speed with again, Ebay, craigslist, and several online forums.
However, Hershey is still fun, made a lot of friends over the years from the different regions. You may talk with them once in a while, see them at an out of region event.. but you link-up at.. Mechanicsburg, Ski-RoundTop, now Hershey and it always a reunion.. a "happening."

Thanks for the report, I missed it too. Used to look forward to it, if only to talk smack and look at cool stuff. Too much stuff going on now, sadly. Its up to us/me to make it better. Can we get 25 of us up there next year? Show the vendors its worth going? I dunno.
well, it was my first time to attend
i did expect to see a lot more than was there
where was rinnline?
i needed tow hooks, and a few other things from them, just ordered online
soul performance prosucts was there, and it was good to speak with them about a 981 muffler system
i scored a neat little polished metal 981 cayman paperweight, a unique porsche hood crest from my new ride, and some wheel cleaner
no joy on track wheels, which is what i was really after
my buddy scored big, finding a complete tail for his 1979 911 in fantastic condition at a really good price

Rennline was there. Had a mid size ez-up and a van.. usually they're on the first row with a huge tent, all kind of display arrangements and several cars right next to FabSpeed.
I'm telling you it was the weather.. as of 7:00pm Friday all the reports were forecasting between 50-75% precipitation. Earlier in the week it was 85% Friday through Sat night around Hershey.
Been going for 30yrs or more (need to count) and this was the first time I took nothing to sell, had no vendor spot, didn't even bother to drive the truck.
The thought was load in the rain, drive in the rain then unload in the rain, stand in the rain, load all the wet stuff that got ruined either in the rain or when it dried out in the afternoon which it was predicted to do. And of course unload again when ya get home! Think a lot of folks just weren't feeling it.. I wasn't!

It was for me the 3rd time having my spot. The first time I was by myself, and I didn't even had the chance to eat or go to the bathroom, LOL.
Anyway, noticed a lot 944 and 356 used parts. I was hoping to find some items on my list for the 84 Targa.
We were Ok until the wind grabbed our easy-up and trow it over the Cayenne and it landed half on the roof of the Cayenne and the ground. Fortunately it didn't hit anybody and no other car. We had to disassemble the frame in order to get it out of the position it was. Thanks to our neighbor, next to us, who helped us to remove some of the screws until we could fold it up and stick it in the bag.
However, Thanks to all who stopped by and said hello or bought something.
At least this time I was able to go around and find a few items to take home.
Cheers
Engelbert

Yep. Turnout was light with both vendors and shoppers. Did manage to sell some stuff and made the PCA Facebook page.
