Ok. Two problems.
1. Taking picture on mirror with out looking silly.
2. Passenger mirror is stuck on dim. It's driving me crazy now that I no longer have my track car that was rarely washed.
Any suggestions on this topic?

Is the interior mirror stuck on dim as well? Maybe a system reset per the manual would help. See.. stop fjording streams with that beast!

Try turning the mirror-dimming off (there's a button on the bottom of the interior mirror). Is the passenger-side mirror still dimmed? If it is, there's something wrong with the mirror itself. Otherwise, there's probably something wrong with the electronics.

I see the problem. Your shirt is unbuttoned too far and the shear awesomeness is triggering the dimmer. :lsl:

Maybe is the glare from the chest waxing?
This isn't, by any chance, a Daytona Prototype is it?

At his birthday party, it was decided that Gary's new handle should be "Baywatch"

Aww, no one is going to help poor Baywatch fix his mirror. I can't do all that thinking with the hairs on my chest.

Gary, the electro-chrome dimming mirror is electrically powered. There are two pins in the connector at the mirror (pins 1 & 2) that turn on the dimming. I'm not sure if it dims when there is power to the mirror or the reverse but I assume the former since a good design would fail to the default mode which would be not dimmed. So, either the mirror has failed or the wiring to the mirror has failed. Since the other mirrors are not dimmed I think the sensor (in the inside mirror) is fine.
You could try removing the interior cover to the passenger mirror and disconnecting the plug (see https://rennlist.com/how-tos/a/porsche-997-how-to-replace-side-mirrors-384160). You will lose the ability to adjust the mirror but the mirror should undim if the problem is in the wiring in the car. That could take some time to trace with a multimeter. If the mirror stays dimmed then I think the mirror has failed.
I think.
