Just wanted to share my joy with the board that all 24 of the new head studs are in!

I've updated my gallery with some new pics of the most recent progress so feel free to take a look.

Now I've got a few minor things left to do and then it is on to re-installing the P's & C's and timing the cams.

Oh what fun I'm having this Holiday season :D

Engine looks great Doug! :)

I am very impressed with all the work you have done on your engine. That engine will "sing" come Springtime.

When are you planning the re-installation?

Woo Hoo! Looking good, Doug!!!

It's nice to see that you are resisting the urge to dress the engine up with bright colored sheet metal or a polished fan. Nothing wrong with the stock look!

Can't wait to hear that baby purrrrrrr again.

Great job. What's the word on your P&C's. Howabout the top end?
Did you see the Alusil Thread on PP.
Were getting close to busting the myth about not reusing Alusil cylinders along with the proper method for addressing the cylinders for re-ringing.
It's not too late and rings are cheap!
Take a look!
Did I tell you that Vertex had a set of Euro P&C's for $2200.
2K with the discount?
Maybe Santa will come late this year?

Awesome work, Doug. Maybe it can be all together for the VIR DE in Feb?

Bill,

BMW and Moto Guzzi use(d) Alusil for their cylinder bores. Moto Guzzi incorporated Alucil technology back in the early 80's and engine life increased by 2x....I wonder what they recommend for another data point...

Thanks for the all the comments guys. As you can imagine I've had a lot of fun on this one :D

Bill - I've read that thread many times but right now I'm still planning on just sliding the P's back into the C's. Nice try on the new P's but Santa didn't leave me $2.2k so that option is definately out.

Charlie - sorry bud but I won't be running with you a VIR in Feb. My objective is to shake the car down during Feb so all is well for the first Potomac DE in March :)
