Any other Dorki's thinking of attending? My new fuse block is in, and I am definitely going to be there since I missed out on both of the fun runs on the past weekends  . I hope that this drive will be as "fun" as the runs organized by the Dorkiphus gang. Looking forward to see some familiar faces.

If I hadn't just done the same thing with the 356'ers (Loudoun run and brunch at the 1763) just last Sunday I'd be in. Maybe still go for the ride??

Keith, I am thinking the same thing. I'm not sure if I will attend the, lunch. I will probably come along for the drive and leave when I reach the destination point.
I'm out of town that weekend.

I can't resist...its too close to home not to go at least for the ride. I'm in!! See you there at Franklin Park? I'll have an '89 Carrera Coupe (Signal Red).

Drive and dines are good fun but don't expect the same, shall we say "exuberance" as seen during fun runs.
I might be able to make this one.

Thats what I was afraid of, looks like I missed out on all the "real" runs. I wonder if anyone will drive faster than 60mph for this drive(besides me). Keith, Kurt, I look forward to seeing you there. Keith, look for my friend's guards red 89 964C4, I will be there with my Tobacco Brown 79 911SC.

I guess dropping my engine yesterday is as good excuse as any for not making it ... maybe next year.
It would be interesting to know the route they used so if anyone went and want so share I'm all ears.
Keith - hope it wasn't something you picked up in my garage yesterday

The route was nice, good scenery going from Purcellville through Warrenton and stopping at Linden, VA for a gas break. Keith, I hope you feel better, don't worry you didn't miss a thing.

The whole time everyone was going 35 miles an hour, and to top it off they had the nerve to slow down and brake on the twisties
Yuk! Today I was coming home from running an errand in Rockville. I decided to take Georgetown Pike home. BIG MISTAKE! I had to sit behind driver's that find the posted speed limit too daunting. We crawled through every turn. Never again. G-Town Pike is OFFICIALLY off my list of roads to use. What an incredible waste.
Sorry for veering off-topic. :?

35 mph limit and slowing through the twisties ???????
Holy cow, that's the kinda stuff that will give me nightmares for weeks.

Naw, just a little vertigo, had it again today. I think I'm coming down with something, comes and goes. Enjoyed the drop!!
Sounds like I didn't miss much in Purcelleville...Funny thing, I don't seem to remember people even using their brakes on our last Fun Run around the turns - now over hills, well that's another story...

But did you leave a cloud of smoke from "threshold braking" for moving vans?

Jim, this drive had more stop and go traffic than your drive through Old G-town Rd.

The worst was when I would downshift to crush the corners, the fools in front would be braking the whole way around the turns. I still can't sleep from the trauma.
I have no idea what you are talking about...
There is a balance to be struck here... high speeds v. public roads. This behavior of other drivers and those pesky "5 Oh" can hamper a perfectly good fun run.
