View Full Version : Lunch After Funrun?

My wife has foolishly agreed to host lunch at our house after the FunRun assuming there is interest. We're in Manassas so it will not be too far off the path for most people heading home. My idea would be to phone her at the end of the run with a head count so she could order some pizzas. I'm open to suggestions for other food. Laurie actually said she'd fix something but I doubt I'd have an accurate head count until the end of the run and I don't want to wind up with a bunch of leftovers--one of the reasons I'm proposing this is I've got a lot of high-dollar beer in the fridge that gets skunky if it sits too long, and I'd like it to be enjoyed before it reaches that point. Sorry Richard--no Pabst. I'll cover it but will have a kitty if you want to contribute--no obligation. Stogies also provided. Don't know where the route is ending but the house is easy to get to from 28 or 66 and I can bring rudimentary maps to the run if there is interest. Any takers?

I'm in!!

BTW: Dan does have some very good micro brews.

Pizza is just fine for me.

Thanks for the generous offer Dan but I'm going to have to pass.

I need to be home by 1:00 for a pre-school event with my oldest son so I'll be flying home after the Run is over.

Thanks for the offer, but I have to go SUV shopping. Hopefully my adrenaline will have subsided by then or the dealer is in for a treat on my test drive. HOLD ON!!!!!

SUV shopping?
You should forget the SUV and spend the money for a 3.6 transplant into your teener. Good idea, eh? :D

Now that would be a sight ... an SUV towing a 914. Kinda a contradiction in size, huh ?

Jim and Doug--

As your attorney, I must advise you that threadjacking is one of the many offenses the Va Legislature made subject to the deatn penalty at their last session.

Sam - if they only use car related words then I should be OK. Anything else and I'm in trouble

Fortunately, if you drive a Porsche it involves Pamela Lee Anderson and a can of Crisco.

A big thanks to Dan and his wife for hosting a "fun-after-the-fun-run-run" lunch!!! Dan, I really wanted to steal your porch...what a great place to hang out on a beautiful Fall day, talking with friends about their Porch's. :D

The first one was picked up today by Gill.

I will burn them to order so please let me know when you want them.

I can meet you somewhere if thats ok,, I dont do post offices on saturday morning in Annandale (1 hr or more wait and much more frustration).

I am away for the next 3 weekends so if I dont hear from anyone else I am available for the first two weeks in December.

They are here for your taking so dont worry. I copied them in high quality to save some of the resolution. They look good but,, you need to play them at high volume to get the full effects of the Porsche sounds.

Please let me know if you want to arrange to meet me to get them.
