Has anyone have experienced a Garrett Turbo upgrade on a 930? If so, what type of garret turbo is recommended equivalent to a K27 or K28? What other modifications are needed if not a straight bolt on?

Jon: I would post to Rennlist under the turbo forum. When I picked up my car, the previous owner had already installed a k27 with the B&B headers/muffler and 1 bar spring. You will need a few modified parts, but I would look at the whole system from wastegate to boost controller before I switched to a Garrett. I have decided to go the twin turbo EFI route, so I am sticking with my current setup until I am ready to make the switch. I can say that with my current setup, I am at full boost by 3500rpm, with boost building as early as 1,500-2,000rpm depending on load.

You know I hate to admit it...but I am not sure. I have one of the old B&B setups without cats, so that probably has alot to do with the quick spool time. The car was setup when I purchased it.

BTW Rick, My car is originally a California car. Its an 85 Euro. Usually they dont come with cats. Will these cars pass Virgiia emissions with headers/exhaust and turbo upgrades?
