Hi all,

The local Purcellville biz owners are getting a cruise-in together for Aug 16 in the large parking lot on the NE corner at the only traffic light in town currently (although a new light is going up at the new Giant). I am awaiting the official details and will post when available.

They are welcoming all cars for this gathering, with a DJ, food, etc. The main crowd will most likely be the american iron that you would see at the Leesburg event but my neighbor, who is helping to organize the event, is bringing his BWM 2002 and is encouraging me to bring my 911. I am hoping that others can make it to help on the foreign car front.

This is not a car show with awards, but a fund raiser to benefit a scholarship to a technical school which will be awarded somehow somewhere...again, I don't have the full details yet.

I believe it is scheduled to start at 7:00pm and they are hoping to turn this into a regular event since Leesburg is being so damn difficult with hosting their annual car event.

More details soon,

-Dan

If we find a simple problem with my car on Saturday, and I am back on the road in time count me in.

Dan,

A Cruise-in in Purcellville? I'm in!! Now...what to bring....?

You oughta bring your early 911 to Lucketts in September. I went last year, as a foreign car owner I was welcomed but it was pretty lonely. Me in my 356, a bug-eye Sprite and a coupla others. There was a near perfect Datsun 240Z.

They won't be handing out tickets for noise I hope. Sounds like fun to me.

Rick,

Yeah beware... I understand there'll be police officers on-hand with light and dB meters making the rounds checking exhaust note and light bulb intensity...just to be sure there are no law-breakers in the crowd and to keep things orderly

Seriously, I hope 'Fairfax West' never gets to that level of absurdity... or it's helloooo Clark County!!

Dan M, when you find out about the Cruise In details, perhaps we can work in a Fun Run before / after it.
